Actually i flew in last Sunday so this entry is just a tad late lol oh well.
I had an AMAZING time. Here's the low-down:
We arrived at the lodge at around one in the morning (NZ time) and got to sleep around two. We were woken up at 6 am to get read for a full day of skiing. Needless to say we were not happy campers. When we got to the mountain, the weather was sh!t. I mean it was terrible. It was snowing (which is cool but not ideal weather for skiing) and it was so foggy it looked like the skiers on top of the mountain were skiing on nothing, all you could see were these black silhouettes floating to the ground. At 9.30 (prob around ten coz we were late) our two hour skiing lesson began. By lunch time i could not feel my fingertips and toes, so it was a relief to sit in the cafeteria (which they call the 'caf' wtf?) for an hour and a half. They had a fireplace in there to which was awesome lol. After that, we had free time and spent the rest of the day trying not to fall on our asses! woo!
Day two: woken up at 6 AGAIN! not happy hmph
So on the third day after making a promise to myself by the end of the trip i would do the green slope without stacking, i once again took the chairlift with angie and tanya halfway up the mountain, thinking this aim would be achieved on day 5. How wrong i was. The three of us did the green slope until slowly our nmber of stacks decresed until finally we were speeding down and being daredevils! woo!
On day four, we were sore! Wow my butt was just... anyway lol we were sore. Good old angie did a blue run five times! woo! go angie!!!!!!! Me, i stuck to the green slope the whole trip.
Day five we were all so tired and sick we sat in the 'caf' (lol) all day. It was a good day nevertheless.
Day six we spent the day in christchurch. We kicked off the day with some good old jetboating and my fingers nearly fell off from the cold. We then travelled into the city and got to wonder around for about two hours. In NZ, MacDonald's hands ketchup out with the chips lol weird. We spent the day taking pics and mixing with the locals as well as some good old shopping. We then ended the day at the Antarctic centre.
The next morning we got up at... uhm... 2 i think dont quote me and flew from Christchurch to Brisbane and the from Brisbane to home. It took a few days to recover but so far that is the trip of my life. I can now ski and i have experienced another culture and country besides my own, despite the fact i only saw a small portion of NZ>
I'm thinking of submitting some of the nicer photos i took but there is not a single photo that does that place justice. Mt. Hutt is just stunning and you have to see it. Jazzie, Angiew and I had an absolute blast (love you girls) and i will always remember that Ski trip as my first overseas experience without mummy and daddy.
Anyway thats the update from me, saorry if i bored you
Peace out
